A short vlog update where I talk about the need to pause…

General life stuff that doesn’t fit another category
And so to May. We begin with the time of Beltane (bel’ta-na). One of the festivals that mark the turning of the Celtic Calendar. It is often celebrated on the 1st of May, and so coincides with today. A new month. A celebration of what might come.
Beltane was, or is, all about encouraging growth. Crops and livestock were blessed and rituals took place to promote a successful time ahead. I am looking for a successful time ahead. I am seeking Beltane Blessings and I pray that you may be blessed as well.
I’m optimistic that this month will bring big changes. My pilgrimage is ongoing and events beyond my control may move forward. It is difficult to accept that some things can’t be controlled by myself. The danger is that I let those things paralyse me concerning things I can control.
As the ancients celebrating Beltane would plant their crops and herd their cattle whilst praying and believing that the weather and spirits beyond their control would bless them, I also need to work on my own creative projects whilst praying and believing that things beyond my control will bless my journey.
There is much beyond my control.
There is much beyond our control.
Yet may we be blessed this Beltane.
May May mark process on our journeys.

I am currently overwhelmed by the number of creative projects or creative possibilities that I have. To continue on my pilgrimage I need to drop or get rid of a few. It’s difficult to let go of some things though. I’d love to hear how you decide what to do and focus on? Would love to hear your thoughts and comments either here or on YouTube.
Stay safe my friends xox

The Spring Equinox is today. Daylight hours are equal to those of the night. All is in astronomical balance. A momentary pause. The next step into spring and then on to summer. Everything is in balance, stable, and therefore it is an ideal time to set things in motion. A time to begin the new journey, to set off along a new path.
I love the seasonal cycles, the way our lives can connect with the motion of the universe. The connection between the macro and the micro. Sunrise and sunset. New and full moon. A time to sow and a time to reap. And today, it is a time to begin.
I also love ancient writings, rituals, and traditions. I love nature and the natural world. These two sit together in the Ogham alphabet. And, at this time of beginnings I have found myself drawn to the birch tree.
Beith / birch
The first letter in the ogham alphabet.
Traditions see it as a herald for the new.
A time to discard the old ways that inhibit.
A time to initiate.
A time to begin
All of this is where I find myself this day. I am balanced between where I am and where I want to be. This time of equality finds me in a stable position. And I am about to embark on a journey. The path isn’t yet clear or cleared. The timing uncertain. But this is where I begin. I stand beside my birch tree, ready to take my next step.
It’s time for me to begin this creative journey from a place of balance.
